YOGA

"Practice, practice. All is coming."
Pattabhi Jois

Whether you’re completely new to the practice, or a seasoned yogi, find the right yoga offering here.

You will hear it said by yoga teachers over and over again: yoga is so much more than just the asana, the physical practice. I invite you to go deeper in your practice with me.

There are different gateways for accessing more of this ancient and timeless practice: maybe through Sanskrit studies, maybe through pranayama, or meditation, or yoga philosophy. These are all elements of yoga that I feel deeply passionate about sharing and that I incorporate into my teaching.

ASHTANGA YOGA

Based on the 8 Limbs of Patanjali, and pioneered by Patabhi Jois, Ashtanga Yoga (literally, ‘8 limb yoga’ in Sanskrit), also known as Mysore, is the anchor of my personal practice and the main style of yoga which I teach..

What is a Mysore class? This is a traditional style of sharing the practice: each student moves through the ashtanga sequence at their own pace, without any verbal prompting from the teacher. Instead, I am there to offer physical assists to support and deepen your practice, and allow you to be guided primarily by your breath and your body.

No need to be an expert!

JIVAMUKTI YOGA

Another practice which I love to share. Jivamukti is a more modern school of yoga, established by Sharon Gannon and David Life, which evolved from the ashtanga sequence.

Jivamukti shares ashtanga asana but not in the same set sequence, and with added bhakti (devotional) yoga, such as mantra chanting, and philosophy woven into each class.

If you’re looking for a strong, challenging and dynamic physical practice, and an opportunity to deepen your understanding of yoga philosophy, to start bringing yoga more into your daily life, then Jivamukti is for you!
